Poker for Dummies. A good book to start is "Poker for Dummies". The authors Richard Harroch and Lou Krieger are experienced Poker players. "Poker for Dummies" covers the basics of the game (Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Seven Card Stud and poker lingo) as well as many advanced subjects like how to play online or in a Casino, reading your opponent and bluffing. This makes it not only a book for beginners but also an efficient reference book.

Texas Hold'em For Dummies. The most played poker games as well as my favorite is Texas Hold'em. To improve my Texas Hold'em skills I, again, picked a book from the "…for Dummies" series. Texas Hold'em for Dummies. This books explaines in a easy to understand style everything you need to know about Texas Hold'em; from simble basic rules to complex stragies. This bookis, in my opinion, a must to make the transisiton from a Beginner to a serious Player. "Texas Hold'em for Dummies" is written by Marc Harlan.

You are able to find a tv channel viewing a Poker Tournament almost all the time. We are able to watch different pofessional player and learn from their games. My favorite Poker players are Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu. The basic Poker Strategy Phil Hellmuth is teaching in his books matches very good with my personal mind set and Daniel Negreanu always seems at least one step ahead of everybody. Both of them wrote several books about Poker. Some of them I would like to recommend.

Hold'em Wisdom for all Players . Daniel Negreanu discusses and teaches many concepts and strategies in 50 easy lessons.

Phil Hellmuth's Texas Hold'em. My favorite Book. It does not only explain the basics of the game but puts a lot of emphasis on betting strategies. How to read your opponents last bet and how to react to it. Betting, raising, bluffing and folding. This book is worth reading all over again.
